Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty Appoints Real Estate Veteran Sofia Padilla To Executive Director Of Project Marketing On The New Developments Team
Executives of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty announced today the appointment of Sofia Padilla to Executive Director of Project Marketing to help lead strategic campaigns for the fast-growing New Developments Division of the brokerage firm. In addition to managing individual accounts, Padilla will oversee the New Developments ecosystem and scale the rapid rise of new construction housing that will manifest with House Bill 1110.
“We are proud to welcome Sofia Padilla to our team and draw upon her diverse experience in project marketing,” said Dean Jones, President and CEO of RSIR. “We are uniquely positioned to grow into the opportunity presented by statewide legislation that will upzone larger municipalities as of July 1, 2025.”
Jones points to Washington’s strategy to build one million new housing units by 2044 to cope with population growth. It is modeled after similar statewide efforts in California and Oregon, aiming to combat housing shortages, increase affordability, reduce geographic and racial segregation, and support more compact, transit-friendly urban communities. By dismantling traditional single-family-only zoning and mandating uniform rules across diverse cities, the law is designed to expand housing supply, promote socio-economic equity, and encourage environmental sustainability through reduced sprawl and better access to transit and amenities.
“We intend to be a leading solution working with would-be sellers, homebuilders, and the residential real estate community to deliver thousands of units by the end of the decade by offering the region’s only vertically integrated solution from initial concept through final closing,” added Jones. “Sofia Padilla’s impressive experience will help us scale our project marketing solutions.”
Padilla has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, most recently working as Managing Director Sales & Marketing for VDB/Compass in Bellevue, and has held senior executive positions with both developers and national brokerages. In her new role, Padilla will help scale RSIR’s New Developments division when new construction projects increase as a result of House Bill 1110.
“I am honored to work alongside such recognized industry professionals at Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, and I look forward to carrying our shared legacy forward into the meteoric opportunities that are before us,” said Padilla. “I have respected this company for all of my career, and I’m thrilled to call RSIR home.”
Padilla will be working closely with divisional leaders inside RSIR’s New Developments team including:
Dehlan Gwo, Vice President of New Developments
Kelly Mann, Vice President of Development Strategy
Tadashi Shiga, Vice President of Land Division
Tom Skeptetaris and Rebecca Mitsui, Builder Services Group
Lane Tollefsen, Creative Director of CLAY Agency
“Working with Sofia Padilla is going to add value to all our verticals and ensure we are deploying the campaigns both corporately as well as on key projects,” said Dehlan Gwo, Vice President of New Development. “I feel fortunate to have made her acquaintance and aligned our futures.”
Gwo is actively leading several notable accounts, including the 271-unit Graystone Condominiums on First Hill in Seattle and the 37-unit Infinity Shore Club Residences on Alki Beach in West Seattle. Padilla and Gwo will collaborate on other projects, including Rainier Chalet in Enumclaw and Crescent Ridge in Crescent Bar. Several new projects will be directed by Padilla, including new clients like Greencity Homes and Range Properties, to name a few. The collective is well positioned to represent the bounty of new micro-housing projects in the pipeline associated with House Bill 1110, led by an exclusive partnership between RSIR and Realtie.
“We are building the team to execute on the largest upzone in Washington history, and Sofia is going to be an excellent addition to lead our campaigns,” said Tadashi Shiga, Vice President of Land Division and a co-founder of Realtie, which uses artificial intelligence and a “virtual architect” to spot opportunities within municipalities. “We are already working successfully with multiple developers to source their land and list their properties back to homebuyers. It is all coming together.”
Recently, Shiga hosted a clock hours certification class for more than forty RSIR brokers eager to learn about House Bill 1110 and how to represent land acquisitions for local builders as the looming deadline for municipal governments to conform was June 30, 2025. This mandate was also the center of conversation during the 2025 Futurecast Forum cohosted by RSIR on June 5, 2025, at the Kirkland Performance Center.
“We are on the precipice of an entirely new real estate economy and the RSIR Nation is at the ready,” concluded Jones. “Welcome to the team, Sofia!”
